J. H. Zink, 75, Former County Resident, Dies
John H. Zink, 75, former Jasper county resident, died at Tulsa, Okla., Tuesday, June 8, according to work received here.
Mr. Zink was born in Highland county, O., Aug. 3, 1862, and came with his parents, James D. and Clarissa Murphy Zink, to Jasper county when he was four years old.
The family located on a farm seven miles east of Newton where Mr. Zink lived continuously until moving to Norman, Okla., in 1907. He moved to Tulsa in 1935.
While in Iowa, he attended the former Hazel Dell Academy in Newton. He was married to Eva Armentrout, March 19, 1889, and joined the Hixon Grove church a year later.
Surviving relatives include three children, Mrs. Ray H. Hann of Detroit, Mich., John of Tulsa, Okla., and Townsend of Fort Sill, Okla.; four grandchildren, Mildred Mary Zink of Norman, Okla, and Jill, John Jr., and Sarah Zink, all of Tulsa.
Two brothers, Murphy Zink of LeMars, Ia.; and Arthur Zink of McCook, Neb.; are both deceased.
