Mrs. Zimmerman Dies at 70 Years
Former Newton and Lynnville Resident Dies Monday at New Sharon
Mrs. Will Zimmerman, 70, formerly Mrs. Joe Thompson of Newton, died Monday at 9:45 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Milan Sexton at New Sharon.
Mrs. Zimmerman’s death occurred four months after that of her husband, who died in Lynnville Nov. 29, 1936.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from the Friends church in Lynnville. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sexton of New Sharon and Mrs. Ross Cackler of Basin, Wyo.; and two sons, Lowell Thompson of Denver, Colo., and Will Thompson of New Sharon.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. W. E. Horn and Mrs. Sadie Macy of Newton, Mrs. Milton Sparks of Lynnville, and Mrs. George Koder of Des Moines, and two brothers, Charles Roles of Lynnville and John Roles of Gilman.

Mary Catherine Rolles, daughter of Mary and John Rolles, was born in Davenport, Ia., Oct. 28, 1866, and died March 1, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Milen Sexton, at New Sharon, Ia. She had made her home there since December 1936.
She was united in marriage Aug. 2, 1885, to Joseph Vance Thompson, who died April 27, 1926. To this union five children were born, one of whom died in infancy.
On Oct. 6, 1930, she was married to William Zimmerman, who preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1936.
She was a member of the old Methodist church of Lynnville and the Rebekah and Eastern Star lodges at Lynnville. She was also a member of the Woodman Circle of Newton.
Surviving are her four children, J. W. Thompson of Ottumwa, Mrs. Mary Ellen Keckler of Basin, Wyo., Mrs. Mildred Sexton of New Sharon and L. V. Thompson of Warland, Wyo., five grandchildren, Mrs. Lucille Jarrett of Detroit, Mich., Donna and Robert Sexton of New Sharon, Jerry and Jo Anne Thompson of Warland, Wyo., and three great-grandchildren, Billie, Albert and Lucinda Jarrett of Detroit.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Milton Sparks of Lynnville, Mrs. C. G. Macy and Mrs. W. E. Horn of Newton and Mrs. George Koder of Des Moines, and two brothers, Charles Rolles of Lynnville and John Rolles of Gilman. Two brothers, George and Eli Rolles, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted from the Friends church in Lynnville Thursday afternoon, March 4, and burial was in the Union cemetery at Newton.
