William Vos, Sr., Dies at 81 Years
Grand Rapids, Mich., Man Dies at Home of Daughter at Sully
SULLY – William Vos, age 81, of Grand Rapids, Mich., former resident of Sully and Pella, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lane Van Rees at Sully.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. from the home and at 1:30 p.m. from the Christian Reformed church. Interment will be in the Sully cemetery.
Mr. Vos was born at Sprang, Netherlands and came to the United States in 1892, locating at Pella. He lived for a number of years at Pella and Sully before going to Grand Rapids.
Surviving relatives include 12 children, 60 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

SULLY – Funeral rites for William Vos, Sr., of Grand Rapids, Mich., former resident of Sully, were conducted from the Christian Reformed church in Sully Friday afternoon, March 19 and interment was in the Sully cemetery.
Mr. Vos was born at Sprang, Netherlands in 1856 and came to American in 1892. He lived at Pella and Sully for a number of years before going to Michigan.
He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leen Van Rees, Tuesday afternoon, March 16.
He is survived by thirteen children: Dirk Vos, of Pella; Mrs. C. Van Genderen of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Leen Van Rees, of Sully; John W. Vos, of Pella; Peter Vos, Mrs. Bert Meppelink and William Vos, Jr., all of Sully; Mrs. C. Coleman of Denver, Colo.; Marinus Vos of Prairie City; Mrs. Albert Herder and Mrs. Louise Volcklandt of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Martin Monsma of Pella, and Mrs. Harold Ballast of Denver, Colo.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jan Ebels of Driebergen, Netherlands and Mrs. A. Geenen, of Sully, 60 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
