John Van Vark Dies Today at Age of 86 Years
John Van Vark, 86, of Lynnville died today at 5:30 a.m. at the county home, where he had been a resident since December 1935.
Mr. Van Vark, who had been ill with influenza for two weeks, suffered a fractured hip Monday, when he slipped and fell as he was getting out of bed.
He is survived by a son, Frank Van Vark of Lynnville, and a daughter, Mrs. Maude Wood of Oskaloosa.

John Van Vark’s Body Taken To Pella Mortuary
The body of John Van Vark, 86, was taken to Pella Wednesday, where funeral services and burial will be held.
Mr. Van Vark died Wednesday morning at the county home, as the result of a fractured hip suffered Monday. A two-week illness of influenza also contributed to his death.
