Bert Van Ness Dies Saturday
Death Follows Week’s Illness of Pneumonia; Funeral Tuesday
MONROE – Bert H. Van Ness, 55, died here at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Belinda Coffman, Saturday night following a week’s illness of pneumonia.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Monroe Baptist church. Interment will be at Palo Alto cemetery near Newton.
Rev. J. E. Carlson, pastor of the church, will be in charge of the funeral services.
Survivors besides the wife include three sisters, Mrs. Minnie McReynolds, Monroe, Mrs. Sarah Wert, Fort Des Moines, and Mrs. Leota Mommer, Marshalltown, and four brothers, George, Hazleton; Elvin, Sully; Vern, Newton, and Virgil, Indianola.
Mr. Van Ness’ father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Van Ness, died several years ago.
