Shirley Talbot Dies Tuesday at Age of 2 Years
Shirley Talbot, two-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Talbot, Newton, R.F.D., 2, died Tuesday about 2:30 p.m. at the Skiff Memorial hospital.
She had been ill for several weeks and her death was attributed to a complication of diseases, including pneumonia.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Toland funeral home by Rev. Daniel E. Buser, pastor of the Foursquare Gospel church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Surviving relatives include her parents; a sister, Edith; a brother, Carroll; a half-brother, Donald Brady, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shoemake of Newton and Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Talbot of Centerville, Kan.

Conduct Rites Thursday For Shirley Talbot
Funeral services for Shirley Talbot, 2-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Talbot, were conducted from the Toland funeral home Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Daniel Buser of the Foursquare Gospel church, assisted by Capt. C. H. Crismier of the Salvation Army.
Music was furnished by Miriam Evans and Rebekah Evans, who sang, “Gathering Buds” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” Lieut. E. Bollwahn of the Salvation Army was the accompanist.
Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery.
Those attending from a distance were S. P. Talbot and Ernest Talbot and son of Centerville, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Shoemake, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Phillips, Mrs. Harold Phillips, Alfred Fisher, Mrs. Albert Christianson and Ed L. Jensen of New Sharon; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Becroft of Oskaloosa; Mrs. Ella Van Howeling of Pella, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Talbot and Mrs. John Jelsma of Lynnville.
The child died Tuesday afternoon at the Skiff Memorial hospital after a several week’s illness.
Surviving relatives include the parents; a sister, Edith; a brother, Carroll; a half-brother, Donald Brady, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shoemake of Newton and Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Talbot of Centerville, Kan.
