Mother of Newton Woman Dies Sunday in Marshalltown
Mrs. Laura Oppice, 71, of Marshalltown, mother of Mrs. L. N. Bailey of Newton, died Sunday at 4:15 p.m. at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown.
Improving following a two-week illness of pneumonia, Mrs. Oppice suffered a stroke Sunday noon which resulted in her death a few hours later. Mr. and Mrs. Bailey were called to her bedside.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home, 205 North Center street, Marshalltown, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
Surviving relatives are the daughter, Mrs. Bailey; a son, Roland Oppice of Marshalltown, and a sister, Mrs. F. C. Bertram of Freeport, Ill.
Mr. Bailey, salesman in the commercial printing department of The News Printing company, was joined here this spring by Mrs. Bailey. They formerly made their home in Marshalltown.
