Mrs. Mooar, 38, Dies Suddenly
Gertrude McKeever Mooar Dies Sunday After Brief Illness
Mrs. Gertrude McKeever Mooar, 38, 1100 First Avenue West, died unexpectedly at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Skiff Memorial hospital following a brief illness of four days.
Mrs. Mooar, who was employed in the office of Dr. Fred E. Carpenter, had been at her work until Wednesday, when she was taken ill with influenza and septic sore throat. She was removed from her home to the Skiff hospital Sunday a short time before her death, which was attributed to a heart attack.
Await Husband
Her husband, David L. Mooar, who had gone to Chicago last week on a business trip, had not reached Newton by noon today, his train was delayed because of the snow storm. He was not notified earlier of her illness, because her condition was not regarded as alarming until it was too late.
Funeral services were not made this morning by relatives, who were awaiting Mr. Mooar’s return.
Mrs. Mooar was born Sept. 12, 1898 in Newton on the same property where she was living at the time of her death. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. McKeever, both of whom have preceded her in death.
Local Graduate
She attended the Newton schools and was graduated from the local high school in June, 1918. Following her graduation, she began work for Dr. Harry P. Engle as office assistant and continued in his employ for over 12 years.
She had held a similar position with Dr. Carpenter, since he came to Newton in 1929.
Surviving relatives include her husband; three brothers, Luther R. and T. E. McKeever, both of Newton and Leonard R. McKeever of Kalispell, Mont; one sister, Mrs. Inda Hess of Newton; seven nephews, three nieces and one great-niece and one great-nephew.

To Hold Rites For Mrs. Mooar Here Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude McKeever Mooar, 38, will be conducted from the Morgan funeral home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. by Dr. J. Irvine Walker of Perry, former pastor of the Newton Congregational church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mrs. Mooar died Sunday afternoon at the Skiff Memorial hospital after a few days illness.
Surviving relatives include her husband, David L. Mooar, three brothers and one sister.

Conduct Rites For Mrs. Mooar
Funeral Services For 38-Year-Old Newton Woman Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude McKeever Mooar, 38, were conducted from the Morgan funeral home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. by Dr. J. Irvine Walker of Perry, former local pastor.
Earnest L. Earley furnished the music for the rites, singing, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Nearer to Thee,” Mrs. Henry E. Efnor, his daughter, was the accompanist.
Pallbearers
Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: Frank Willey, Joe Arbs, Alex Barbour, Wilfred Morrow, Frank Stockton and J. W. Harms.
Mrs. Allen Blair, Mrs. Frank Park and Mrs. Joe Arbs were in charge of the flowers.
Mrs. Mooar died Sunday afternoon at the Skiff hospital, following a brief illness.
Office Assistant
She had been employed as office assistant to Dr. Fred E. Carpenter since 1929, and prior to that time, had held a similar position with Dr. Harry P. Engle for a number of years.
Surviving relatives include her husband, David L. Mooar; three brothers, Luther R., and T. E. McKeever, both of Newton and Leonard R. McKeever of Kalispell, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. Inda Hess of Newton, and several nieces and nephews.
