Mrs. Fish Dies in South Dakota
Newton Relatives Leave to Attend Rites of Former Jasper County Woman
MURPHY – Mrs. Stella Murphy Fish, about 66, native Jasper county resident, died Saturday evening at Aberdeen, S.D., according to word received by relatives.
Funeral services will be held in Aberdeen Tuesday afternoon and relatives attending form here will be three brothers, Olin and Hugh P. Murphy, both of near Newton, and A. K. Murphy, of Marshalltown; a sister, Hermea Murphy and a nephew, Fred Murphy, both of Newton. A brother, H. C. Murphy, and a sister, Mrs. R. A Wilson, also of Newton, were unable to attend.
Mrs. Fish was born in the Murphy neighborhood southeast of Newton and taught in the rural schools of Jasper county for a number of years.
She married George Fish of Kellogg and they moved to northern Iowa for a few years and then to South Dakota about 30 years ago. Mr. Fish’s death occurred there 11 years ago.
Besides the local relatives, Mrs. Fish is survived by three children, Herbert of Aberdeen, Mrs. Lorraine Griffiths of Phillips, S.D. and Lyrivine Fish of Nile ___, Mont.
