Mrs. Allbee, 77, Dies in Newton
Former Resident of Eldora Dies This Morning; Take Body to Eldora
Mrs. Jeanette Allbee, 77, former resident of Eldora, died today at 10:25 a.m. at 303 West Fifth Street South following a short illness of heart disease.
The body was taken to Eldora where funeral services and burial will be held.
Mrs. Albee had made her home in Newton with her daughters and a granddaughter since the death of her husband, C. Vernon Allbee, in 1921.
She was born in Illinois Dec. 21, 1859, and came to Iowa in 1877 as the bride of Mr. Allbee. They spent most of their married life in Eldora, with the exception of 18 years in Searsboro.
She was a member of the Methodist church at Searsboro.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Mrs. W. H. Driskell, Mrs. Jesse James and Mrs. H. J. Lammers of Newton; three sons, Charles and Ben Allbee of Eldora and Arthur Allbee of Des Moines; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A granddaughter, Mrs. H. C. Harrison of Newton, was raised by Mrs. Allbee and the later had lived with her part of the time since coming to Newton.

Hold Rites Today For Mrs. Allbee
Funeral services for Mrs. Jeanette Allbee, 77, who died Monday in Newton, were conducted at Eldora this afternoon at 2:00. Interment was in a cemetery there.
Mrs. Allbee was the mother of Mrs. W. H. Driskell, Mrs. Jesse James and Mrs. H. J. Lammers of Newton and Charles and Ben Allbee of Eldora and Arthur of Des Moines.
