Prairie City Died Infant son Mr. and Mrs. Price

Sunday morning, although all nature was decked in regal splendor, and the bright sun shedding gladness around us, yet over one home circle in our midst the dark Angel hovered and just as the church bells were ringing for morning service, entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Price and bore from thence the darling little babe which only a few short weeks had lightened their hearts and brightened their home only lent then transplanted to that fairer clime to expand into the perfect flower. The child’s earthly ministry was well done, for the rose does its work as grandly as in blossom as the vine with its fruit, and having helped to sanctify and lift heavenward the very hearts that broke at its farewell, it has gone from this troublesome sphere ere the winds chilled or the rains stained it, leaving the world it blessed and the skies through which it passed still sweet with its lingering fragrance, to its glory as an ever unfolding flower in the blessed garden of God.

Funeral services were held Monday at 4 p. m. at the home, from whence at the close of the sad service the little casket was laid away in our beautiful Waveland Cemetery. While no words can comfort our friends, yet they have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement. ~ The Newton (IA) Record Friday, June 18, 1897
