Geo. Schaumburg, Lifelong Resident; Dies at Hospital
George Schaumburg, 54, of Rt. 1, Kellogg, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died at 7 a.m. today at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kellogg.
The Rev. Kenneth Eggen, pastor of the church, will conduct the services.
Mr. Schaumburg will lie in state at the Johnson Funeral Home in Newton until 10 a.m. Monday.
Mr. Schaumburg is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Glora May) Morris of Kellogg and Peggy Elaine at home; a son, Merlin Duane of Carrollton, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Dean Morris of Kellogg and Robin Michele Schaumburg of Carrollton, Mo.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schaumburg of Newton; three sisters, Mrs. Lester (Barbara) Beard of Newton, Mrs. Beulah Johnson of Newton and Mrs. Earl (Selma) Parks of Newton; and two brothers, Glenn of Des Moines and Louis of Rock Island, Ill.
Mr. Schaumburg, a resident of Newton until moving to Kellogg in 1943, was a former employe of the Maytag Co. before farming in the Kellogg area.
The son of Henry and Millie Thompson Schaumburg, he was born May 24, 1908 in Newton. He was educated in Newton schools.
Mr. Schaumburg, a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kellogg, was married to Katherine Reichelt Dec. 25, 1930 at Kellogg.

George Schaumburg Services Are Monday
Funeral services for George Schaumburg, 54, of Rt. 1, Kellogg, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kellogg.
The Rev. Kenneth Eggen, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery at Kellogg.
Memorials to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be accepted.
Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George Schaumburg Rites Held at Kellogg
Funeral services for George M. Schaumburg, 54, of Rt. 1, Kellogg, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, were held this afternoon at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kellogg.
The Rev. Kenneth Eggen, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was in Our Silent City Cemetery.
The organist, Mrs. Mabel Veber, accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Harold Mason.
Pallbearers were Warren Bates, Morris Hay, Robert Paulson, Adolph Ebert, Darrell Hurley and Ralph Allen.
Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
