Wallace "Wally" Freemont Pinick, 84, of 1309 S. 13th Ave. E. died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Griffin Nursing Home in Knoxville.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Gene Bryant of Newton officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will be available. Memorials will be accepted in his name.

The son of Edward A. and Ellen (Middleton) Pinick, he was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Wamego, Kan. He was a high school graduate. On Oct. 26, 1974, he married Eleanor Marie Crook in Des Moines. He was a truck driver for more than 50 years and was employed by Yellow Freight System and Bisom Trucking in Newton. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, bowling and trucking. Mr. Pinick was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jimmie Pinick; a step-son, William Taylor of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Lyle Pinick of Kansas City, Mo., Edwin Pinick and Eldon Pinick, both of Topeka, Kan.; and two sisters, Agnes Murdock of Nebraska and Marcella Casey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
