Dennis John Sloan was born 27 Sep 1945 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Charles and Florence (Scott) Sloan. After graduating from high school in Monroe Iowa, Dennis joined the Navy as his father had. He married Carla Dorothy Shaw, daughter of Harry and Myrna (Wood) Shaw on 26 Jun 1977. He enjoyed life and his grandchildren were his greatest joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, a brother Charles Dean, a sister Donna Rae Rempp, and his father and mother in-law. He survived by his wife Carla, adopted daughter Heather, son Scott (Jennifer) Sloan and daughter Janae (Jon) Felkins. Grandchildren Sydnee and Abygil Sloan , Camrin and Cali Felkins, all of California ; also sisters Doris (Gary) Altemeier, Deb Sloan, brother Duane (Vanessa) Sloan, Aunt Virginia (Oren) Scott and many nieces, nephews and cousins all from Iowa.
Dennis was cremated and Carla has his cremains. When she passes, both are to be buried at Santa Maria Cem Ca where her parents are buried.
