Mrs. Hannah Shill Dies Saturday; Services Tuesday
Kellogg – Mrs. Swade (Hannah) Shill, 95, of Rt. 2, Kellogg, a lifelong resident of the Kellogg community, died Saturday evening at the Skiff Memorial hospital in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Carl Klein, pastor of the Kellogg United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.
Friends may call at the Wallace Funeral Home in Newton.
Memorial contributions to the Heritage Manor Activity Fund will be accepted.
Survivors are a son, Leonard of Rt. 2, Kellogg; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Lenz of Kellogg; two grandsons, Dale and Dwight Lenz of Rt. 2, Kellogg; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Albert Anderson of Sun City, Ariz.; and four sisters, Mrs. Fred (Martha) Baldwin and Mrs. Barney (Birdie) Stecker, both of Kellogg and Mrs. Stena Irwin and Mrs. Mary Rose, both of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Andrew and Simon Anderson; and a sister, Mrs. Ella Hammer.
Mrs. Shill was a member of the Christian Church in Kellogg and the Neighborly Neighbors Farm Bureau Club.
The daughter of James and Minnie Anderson, Danish immigrants to Kellogg, she was born Feb. 25, 1883 at Kellogg.
She was married in 1912.
