June (Thompson) Brewer (1926 - 2018)

June Thompson Brewer, 91, of Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

She was born on August 30, 1926 in Joplin, MO, to the late Claybourne and Amelia Gandy Thompson. Mrs. Brewer was retired from Jasper County Bank in Newton, Iowa for over 10 years. She was a volunteer at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, for over 20 years. Mrs. Brewer enjoyed cross stitching, puzzles, music, and sewing. She loved to travel, going to the beach and the mountains, where she had a place for 33 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Aaron Brewer; and brother, Beauford Thompson.

She is survived by her son, Reagan Brewer and his wife, Kathleen; daughters, Julie Mace, and Jill Brewer; sister, Virginia Adler; sister by marriage, Maxine Thompson; grandchildren, Kirsten Muller, Ryan Brewer, Justin Mace, Jessica Khounsourath; great grandchildren, Nicholas, James, and Meghan Muller, Jacob and Jayla Khounsourath, Reagan Anderson Brewer, Colbie Mace; very special friend, Bill Brannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6 from 12:30-2:00 PM with a service following at 2:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Brad Harrison and Rev. Dr. Hugh Cooper officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 9 at Salisbury National Cemetery.
