Ray Bonnett Died Friday
Ray M. Bonnett, 65, a resident of Colfax for several years died Friday evening at the nelson Manor in Newton. He had been in failing health for several months.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Washington Bonnett, he was born October 6, 1896 at Bussey, Iowa. He spent most of his younger life at Bussey.
Mr. Bonnett farmed near Colfax for ten years and went from here to Oskaloosa, where he resided about 7 years before coming back to Colfax, two years ago.
Preceding him in death were his wife in 1955 and an infant son.
Mr. Bonnet is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. Jean Parrish of Newton, Mrs. Joan DeReus, Mrs. Vera Lou Dooley, both of Colfax, Mrs. Carol Backer, Mrs. Patty Ancell, Mrs. Janice Modde, all of Des Moines, Mrs. Betty Sharpe of Ottumwa and Mrs. Pauline Doublestein of Otsego, Mich.; two sons, Dale and Harold Bonnett, both of Osceola; four brothers, two sisters and 24 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
Burial was in the Pringle Cemetery at Bussey.
