Mrs. H. Wehrman, Aged 84, Dies In Melbourne
Baxter – (Special to The Daily News) – Mrs. Helene Wehrman, 84, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John E. Roberts in Melbourne, early Thursday morning. Mrs. Wehrman had lived with her daughter for the past three years and was bedfast the last 19 weeks from a malignancy.
Mrs. Wehrman was born April 5, 1862, and had made her home in Baxter since her retirement from the farm. Her husband, George Wehrman, died in 1938.
She is survived by the daughter and three sons, Oscar Wehrman of State Center, Richard Wehrman of Laurel, and Gustave Wehrman of Van Cleve.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. from the St. John’s Evangelical church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Emil Burichter will officiate at the services and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Helen Wehrman
Baxter – (Special to The Daily News) – Helen Kamman Wehrman was born on April 5, 1862 in Herman, Wisc. and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John E. Roberts, at Melbourne, Ia., on July 11, 1946, at the age of 84 years, three months and six days.
She spent the early part of her life in Wisconsin at the place of her birth, coming to Marshall county at the age of 20. Here she met George Wehrman, to whom she was married on June 6, 1882.
After her marriage she spent most of her life on the home farm until she and her husband moved to Baxter in 1920.
Mr. and Mrs. Wehrman spent a long and prosperous life together. In 1932, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and were privileged to live together 56 years.
To this union four children were born: Gustave of Melbourne, Mrs. Lydia Roberts of Melbourne, Oscar of State Center and Richard of Laurel, all of whom survive. Other survivors are nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wehrman died in 1938 and since that time Mrs. Wehrman has made her home with her children.
A short prayer service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Boyd Funeral home and regular services at the St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church at 2:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. Emil Burichter.
Music was furnished by Mrs. LeRoy Allspach, organist, and Charles Korte, soloist. Pallbearers were nephews: Arthur, Harry, William, Clifford, Hugo and Victor Wehrman.
The floral arrangements were in charge of Mrs. J. H. Boyd, assisted by Shirley Wehrman, Mrs. Wanda Billman, Pearl Wehrman and Mrs. Harold Ingraham, all grandchildren of Mrs. Wehrman.
Burial was in St. John’s cemetery. Attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Klessing, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Albrect, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seimirs, Mr. and Mrs. Helms, all of Cleveland, Wisc., and Mrs. Clifford Wells and son, Bobby of Piedmont, Calif.; also many relatives and friends from Marshalltown and Newton.
