Clippinger, Bessie – 1899-1918

Miss Bessie Clippinger, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clippinger, passed away at five o’clock Wednesday morning, at the home of her parents, two miles west of Colfax. She had been suffering with pneumonia for about three months, but she felt able to sit up on the porch Sunday evening. While there she fainted and then grew steadily worse until the end. Bessie was always cheerful and met everyone with a smile. She will be sadly missed by her many friends. The funeral services will be held in the Methodist church in Colfax at 2 p.m. Friday.

Bessie Clippinger, eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Clippinger, passed away at her home west of Colfax due to a three months illness of pneumonia. Deceased was eighteen years, ten months and seventeen days of age. Bessie was born August 2nd, 1899, north of Colfax and has resided in this vicinity all her life. She will be greatly missed by a host of friends. She was a most patient sufferer during her illness, always cheerful and thoughtful to save others unnecessary steps. Her life on earth has blessed many. She goes now to her Heavenly reward. Bessie was an attendant of the Methodist Sunday School and professed her faith in her Saviour a few months ago.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Cannom in the Methodist church at one o’clock Friday afternoon. The body was taken to Newton for burial.
