Funeral Services For Mrs. Barber To Be Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. John P. Barber will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Christian church in Newton at 2:30 o’clock, with the Rev. R. D. Winger, pastor, in charge. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mrs. Barber died yesterday morning at 10:30 o’clock at her home here at the age of 76 years. She had been in ill health for nearly a year.
She is survived by her husband, six children, Mrs. Norma Elliott, Ray E. Barber and Arthur Barber of Newton, L. H. Barber of Clinton and Mrs. Clara Morgan and Mrs. Nelle Curtis of Cleveland, O., a sister Mrs. Margaret Rinden of Chicago, and a brother, Charles Poinus of Colchester, Ill.
Mrs. Barber was the two hundred seventy-third member of the Newton Daily News Three Quarter Century club, joining with her husband on Aug. 26, 1921.
