April 30, 1953 - July 6, 2018

Sandra "Sandy" Herzog, 65, of Baxter, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, July 6, 2018. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Bethany United Church of Christ in Baxter, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow and begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery in Baxter, Iowa.
Sandy was born on April 30, 1953 in Newton, Iowa to Howard and Frances (Holmes) Allspach. She attended school in Grinnell and Baxter. In 1985 she moved back to Baxter and not long after began dating the love of her life William "Bill" Herzog. On February 28, 1990 the couple married. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids, camping, fishing, gardening, woodworking, spending Bill's money, and piddle farting around.

Those left to remember her memory are her children Melissa (Ben) Taft of Marshalltown, IA, Steven (Leanne) McCulley of Des Moines, IA, and Tonya (Mike) Strovers of Polk City, IA; grandchildren William, Aaron (Kenley), Jared, Braden (Tayler), and Talyn; great-grandchildren Natalie, Jaiden, and Skye; sisters Beverly Jo (Kent) Pothoven, and Donna Lynn (Ronnie) Rogers; and many close friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband Bill, granddaughter Taylor Lynn Strovers, and her sister Rae Jean Allspach.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
