Mrs. Benjamin Dies Wednesday

Mrs. David E. Benjamin, 69, lifetime resident of Newton, died Wednesday evening at her home, 405 West Seventh street North, as the result of a heart ailment.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at Morgan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Newton Union cemetery.

Mrs. Benjamin was born Lillie Carrier on Aug. 30, 1882, in Newton to David and Catherine Carrier. She attended Newton schools. On Oct. 26, 1901, she was married to David E. Benjamin.

Survivors are her husband; five sons, Leonard and Lawrence of Colorado, Clyde in Indiana, Donald of Newton, Dale of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Paget in California and Mrs. Lee Anderson of Newton; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Matt Dewire of California, and one brother, Henry Kuhn of Newton.

Mrs. D. Benjamin Funeral Is Held

Final rites for Mrs. David E. Benjamin, 69, who died Wednesday at her home here, were held at Morgan Funeral Home this afternoon. Burial was in Newton Union cemetery.

Rev. Elvin H. Ernest, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiated at the services. Serving on the flower committee were Mrs. Jessie James and Mrs. Archie Musgrove.

Pallbearers were Alfred Waddell, William Benjamin Jr., Billy Benjamin, Charles Richards, James Messick and Orie Messick.

Mrs. Benjamin lived in Newton all of her life. Death was the result of a heart attack.
