West Des Moines - Jerry B. Salmon, 83, died on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Jerry B Salmon, the son of Floyd and Thelma (Zirbel) Salmon, was born on February 23, 1935 in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from Newton High School in 1953. Jerry was united in marriage with his high school sweetheart and love of his life, L. Joanne White on June 19, 1955 in Newton.

Jerry relocated from West Des Moines to Tinton Falls, New Jersey in April 2017 to be closer to family. In recent years, Jerry was a car service driver with Lithia Motors where he enjoyed driving around the Hawkeye State and the friendship of co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister Miriam Adams, and a son, Judd. Those left to honor Jerry's memory are a son, Jeff Salmon of Marlboro, New Jersey; a granddaughter, Danielle; a grandson, Michael; daughter-in-laws, Olga Salmon of Marlboro, New Jersey and Ruth Hargrave of Ruthevan, Iowa; his dog, Andy, a companion always by his side.

Visitation will be held at Westover Chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, with a memorial service to follow commencing at 10:30 a.m. A family burial will follow at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions should be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Inc.
