Died January 17, 1886 at her home in Poweshiek township, Mrs. Alice Batty, age 21 years and 1 day. Deceased was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Buckley and the wife of Edward Batty. She was born in Coal Valley, Illinois and was married January 10, 1884 to the husband who survives her.
Of her two children, they buried one a year ago and her baby 2 weeks old, survives her.
