Yesterday afternoon five minutes before 4 o’clock William Lemming, a miner at Seevers Mine No. 7, was struck by the tall rope, which broke loose from the pullies and killed almost instantly. He leaves a wife and one daughter seventeen years of age. The wife is a sister of Mrs. E. M. Brings and C. D. Gage, who reside in Northeast Newton. She is also a cousin of George Sampson whose death occurred Thursday in a well accident east of town.
The Lemming family resided in Newton but moved to Colfax about twelve years ago.
