Joseph "Joe" Ruggle, age 91 of Perry, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Rowley Masonic Community in Perry, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Perry. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil service held at 7:15 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry, IA. Memorials will be given to St. Patrick's Joseph & Arva Ruggle Scholarship Fund and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Joseph Anthony Ruggle was born on July 1, 1926 at Conception, MO to Alphonse O. and Marie Stella (McCann) Ruggle. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Perry. After graduation he served his country in General MacArthur's Honor Guard in Japan. He was united in marriage to Arva Marie Hurd at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on September 14, 1948. He was a milkman for Anderson Erickson Dairy, Oscar Mayer, IBP and lastly for Meals On Wheels.

He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Perry. He was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling.

In death he rejoins his wife Arva Marie Ruggle, parents, Alphonse and Marie Ruggle, son, Michael, sisters, Mary Theresa Ruggle and Cecelia Finn and a brother, Philip Ruggle.

Left to cherish Joe's memory are his children, children, Don (Karen) Ruggle of Perry, IA, Jim (Donna) Ruggle of Waunakee, WI, Dave Ruggle of Austin, TX, Paul (Dianne) Ruggle of Newton, IA, Margaret Ruggle of Perry, IA, Anna Ruggle of Des Moines, IA, Dan (Gina) of Perry, IA, Jerry (Christine) of Perry, IA, and Kevin (Kristi) of Manhattan, KS, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, siblings, Ruth and Helen Ruggle, Perry, IA, Leo (Rosemary) Ruggle, Northfield, MN, Clarita Penczek, Joliet, IL and a sister-in-law, Jean Hurd, Marshalltown, IA ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register 27 Mar 2018.
