One day last week a little son of Rufus Stodgel of this township, while playing with a small pebble in his mouth, by some mishap, attempted to swallow it; but instead of going into the stomach, passed down the bronchial tube. Dr. Miller was called to his aid but could render no assistance. He was then taken to Monroe where an operation was attempted, but while it was being performed, the little sufferer died. He was about seven years old.
