W. H. Rumbaugh Dies At Age 80; Funeral Near Ira
Baxter (Special) – Ward H. Rumbaugh, 80, resident of Jasper county most of his life, died Friday in Kansas City, Mo., at the home of a daughter. He was in ill health several weeks.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Union Chapel church near Ira, with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Marshall M. Myers, Des Moines, and Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home of Baxter will be in charge.
Mr. Rumbaugh was born Dec. 3, 1873, in Polk county to Alonzo and Louise Meese Rumbaugh. He was married Oct. 9, 1901, to Iva Coral Campbell, who died in 1912. Mr. Rumbaugh was a retired farmer.
Survivors include one son, Lynn H. Rumbaugh; four daughters, Mrs. J. H. (Dorothy) Norris of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. James (Aileen) Whitfield of Dallas, Tex.; Mrs. John E. (Viva) Graham of Kansas City, Mo., and Coral Louise Rumbaugh of Des Moines; three brothers, George of Collins, C. A. of Norfolk, Neb., and J. V. of Grant Pass, Ore.; and three sisters, Mrs. Darlie M. Weston of Baxter, Mrs. A. W. Jeffries of Upland, Calif., and Mrs. Opan Welsh of Des Moines.

Rumbaugh Rites Are Held Sunday
Baxter (Special) – Funeral services for Ward H. Rumbaugh, 80, who died Friday at Kansas City, Mo., were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Union Chapel church west of Ira.
The Rev. Marshall M. Myers of Des Moines, officiated at the services and burial was in Union Chapel cemetery. Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home of Baxter had charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Raleigh Rumbaugh, George Rumbaugh, Reid Rumbaugh, Harold Rumbaugh, Carroll Rumbaugh and Howard Tramel.
Mrs. Fred Esch, the pianist, accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Arnold Hunter.
Mrs. Howard Tramel and Mrs. Hale Nickell were in charge of flowers.
