Estella Gearhart, Resident of Ira 58 Years, Dies
Ira (Special) – Estella Gearhart, 78, a resident of Ira for 58 years, died at 5:45 a.m. today at the Skiff Memorial hospital.
Funeral services have not been arranged as yet. Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter will have charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gearhart, the last of 12 children of Ben and Sarah Logsdon, is survived by four sons, Vern of Noringer, Mo., Loren of Melbourne, John of Ira and Virgil of Baxter; three daughters, Mrs. Ed (Viola) Taylor of Newton, Mrs. Steve (Luretha) Thrasher of Waterloo and Mrs. Virgil (Sarah) Jontz of Omaha; 31 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in December 1937.
Mrs. Gearhart was born Oct. 1876 in Kentucky, moving with her parents to a farm near Newton. After her marriage to Thomas J. Gearhart in September, 1894, she moved to Ira, her residence since that time.
She was educated in Jasper county rural schools.

Set Thursday Rites For Mrs. Gearhart
Ira (Special) – Funeral services for Mrs. Estella Gearhart, 73, who died Monday, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Ira Methodist church.
Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery west of Ira.
The body will be taken to the church from the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Gearhart Services Conducted at Ira
Ira (Special) – Funeral services for Estella Gearhart, 78, were held today at the Ira Methodist church with the Rev. Robert Forsgren and the Rev. D. C. Butherus officiating.
Burial was in Union Chapel cemetery.
Pallbearers were Walter Taylor, Leland Taylor, Edward Bucklin, Thomas Bucklin, Jack Gearhart and Merle Gearhart.
Mrs. Charles Koon, Mrs. Raymond Loynachan and Mrs. Hale Nickell were in charge of flowers.
A quartet, Mr. and Mrs. James Lowry, Robert Mathews and Mrs. Arnold Hunter, sang. They were accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Florence McIntire.
Boyd-Nickell funeral home in Baxter was in charge of arrangements.
