At nine o’clock Friday night at the home of Elsworth Ashley, Norman Dingman, who has for some years been a familiar figure in Newton, departed this life.
Mr. Dingman was born in Pennsylvania fifty-four years and eight months ago. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. N. Dingman. There survives him three sisters, Mrs. Susan Sparham of this city, Mrs. Emma Hyatt, and one sister in Pennsylvania, and two brothers, Will Dingman of Des Moines, and Bertrum Dingman of Tama City.
The twentieth of June Mr. Dingman was injured in a runaway from which he was recovering, but received a stroke of paralysis Thursday morning of this week, gradually growing worse until he passed away. He was in kind hands, for Mr. and Mrs. Ashley did all in their power until the end to alleviate his sufferings.
Short services will be held at the home of Mr. Ashley at 8:30 Sunday morning, July 8, Rev. E. F. Gillis officiating. After which the remains will be laid in the Newton Cemetery where his father, mother and one brother are buried. ~ The Newton [IA] Daily News, Saturday, July 7, 1906, Page 1, Column 2
