Patrica "Pat" Deeter, 77, formerly of Humeston, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Calvin Community in Des Moines, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Baxter Community Center (203 South Main St., Baxter, Iowa) from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Her funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00 a.m. with Jeanette Watters officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter, Iowa. Pat's family invites friends to join them at the Baxter Community Center for a luncheon following the committal service.

Patrica Sue Allred Deeter and her twin sister, Pamella Ann Allred Bilancia were born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 3, 1940 to Chrystal Rose (Pulsifer) and Myron Kellogg Allred. Their father was a pharmacist and operated a Rexall Drug Pharmacy with fountain and lunch counter in the Wayne County Community of Corydon, Iowa. The girls attended and graduated from the Corydon High School. After attending college at the University of Iowa in Iowa City and Parsons in Fairfield, Iowa they completed their bachelor's degree at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. Pat earned an Elementary Education Bachelor of Science while Pam's was in history. Many life-long friendships were established during those educational years. The twins enjoyed travel and toured Europe on an educational plan associated with one of the colleges they attended. Pat later earned her Master's in Education at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Pat taught 5th grade but occasionally 4th grade and worked tirelessly with special needs students in Gaithersburg, Maryland; Fort Madison, Iowa; and Newton, Iowa; where she met her soulmate, Norris Eugene Deeter, and acquired the family she enjoyed watching and helping grow and prosper. Pat and Norris where separated only by his death in 2001. Pat retired from teaching with a plaque in appreciation of 30 years of service to Iowa Schools.

Pat was a loving sister who maintained consistent contact with Pamella who moved to Florida and eventually preceded her but her brother-in-law, Frank W. Bilancia survives. The beautiful friendships established in her youth and college years matured and those people morn her passing with the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she leaves behind. The children remain in Central Iowa and include- Diane (Mark) Hudson, Kathy Preminger, Tina (Dan) Ehler, Cindy (Leon) Nazworthy, Scott (Tammy) Deeter, and Todd (Rachelle) Deeter; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Special appreciation goes to the people at the Calvin Community for the caring way they worked with Pat in these final years. A special "thank you" to Dr. Joel Baker of Humeston and Dr. Glen Eric Hockett of Des Moines.
