James Archer, a man about fifty-four years of age, was almost instantly killed by being struck by an engine, in the stockyards at Valley Junction, last Sunday evening. His body was brought to Newton yesterday morning and buried in the Catholic Cemetery beside his brother, Tom Archer, who was buried there a few months ago. ~ The Newton Record Thursday, March 1, 1900
