Myra B. Allfree rites Saturday; dies Wednesday
Allfree, Myra (Baker)

Colfax - Funeral services for Mrs. James K. (Myra B.) Allfree, 80, of 400 Ryan, Lot 15, Colfax, a lifelong resident of the Newton and Colfax communities, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home in Newton. Father Omer Woltering, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax will conduct services. Burial will be in the Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Wake services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today. Survivors are her husband; four sons, Robert and Jack, both of Newton, Richard of Ames and Bill of Colfax; two daughters, Dorothy Johnson of Newton and Betty Swihart of Colfax; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, a daughter, Marjorie, a son, Kenneth, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Allfree, a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax, had been an employee of the Newton Manufacturing Co. and the United Telephone Co.

The daughter of Frank and Flora Bishop Baker, she was born May 24, 1901 in Newton and attended Newton schools.

She was married Feb. 23, 1923 in Des Moines. ~ Newton Daily News Newton, IA, April 8, 1982
