Mrs. Allfree Dies Monday.
Illness of Many Months is Fatal to Well Known Woman

Mrs. Henry I. Allfree, well known resident of this community, died early this morning at her home, near Newton after an illness of many months suffering from heart trouble and complications.

Mrs. Allfree had spent practically her entire life in Jasper county and had a large circle of friends. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge. Surviving her are her husband, and four daughters, Mrs. Roy Callison and Mrs. Welcome Wyatt of Des Moines, Edith and Vera Allfree at home and one son, James Allfree of Newton. A sister, Mrs. John Selbher, her father, James Sanderson, and three brothers, John, Sherman and Will Sanderson, also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Sugar Grove Grange hall and will be in charge of Rev. G. C. Williams, pastor of the local Congregational church. Burial will be made in the Metz cemetery. ~ The Newton Daily News, September 14, 1925.

WELL KNOWN WOMAN BURIED

Services for Mrs. H. I. Allfree Held Wednesday Afternoon Funeral services for Mrs. Henry I. Allfree who died Monday after an illness of several months, were conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Sugar Grove Grange hall with Rev. G. C. Williams, pastor of the Congregational church in charge.

Music was furnished by a mixed quartet, with Mrs. Ray Leeper at the piano. Pall bearers were: Ralph Smith, Mel Engle, John Hitchler, Ray Leeper, P. A. Pink, and Charles Gist. The Rebekah lodge of which Mrs. Allfree was a member gave their service at the funeral.

Surviving Mrs. Allfree are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Roy Callison and Mrs. Welcome Wyatt of Des Moines, Edith and Vera Allfree, at home, and one son, James Allfree, of Newton.

Out of town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Roush and Asa Roush of Indianola, Mr. and Mrs. Trummell and Mr. and Mrs. Welch of Bondurant, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Phillips, John Sanderson and Mrs. Earl Wheeler of Des Moines. ~ Newton Daily News, Newton, IA, September 17, 1925
