Patricia "Pat" went home to be with her Savior on December 22, 2017, at her home in Newton, under the care of Mercy Hospice.

A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, and as an expression of sympathy, memorials may be designated to Mercy Hospice or to Pat's family, in her name.

Patricia Ann "Pat" Etter, 79, was born March 31, 1938, in Newton, daughter of Cecil R. and Leona (Snook) Smith. She was a graduate of the Newton High School.

On July 23, 1977, Pat was united in marriage to the Love of her life, Larry William Etter in the Metz Community Church, rural Newton. Larry was a wonderful man and a God sent. She and Larry had many great times over the years. Pat was employed by the Maytag Company as a spot welder. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, cross stitch and reading, devoting her life to her family.

Pat is survived by her husband of 40 wonderful years, Larry; her sons: Roger Harrelson of Montezuma, Kip (Debbie) Etter of Kellogg and Joje (Amber) Etter of Montello, WI; her daughters: Roxanne (Ronald) Skorniak of Hastings, NE and Laurie (Clint) Zeismer of Wausau, WI; her eighteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a sister Marve Yard in Texas; and many good neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Kenny McReynolds; a sister Jean Smith; and a brother Jim Smith. ~ The Pence Reese Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 22 Dec 2017
