Mrs. Leota Acklin died at her home six miles east of this city, Friday afternoon, December 1st, at 5 o’clock, from a complication of troubles, the closing of a goiter was the immediate cause of death.

Mrs. Acklin was nineteen years, 3 months and 2 days old. In May 1904 she was united in marriage with Mr. Ben Acklin, and their home for over a year was in Monroe. In the early fall they moved to this city and made their home with her [sic-his] parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Acklin, on North Race Street, until the 25th of November when they went to live on the farm east of this city where her death occurred.

She leaves besides the husband, her parents, two sisters and three brothers. Her death being the first out of a family of eight children. The funeral services were held Sunday at the Mission Church in Newton, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. J. W. Hackley officiated.
