Yesterday morning about 7:30 Joseph West, aged 56 years, dropped dead at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mabel Holder, in Baxter. Mr. West went from Des Moines to Baxter about eight months ago to live with the family of his daughter. He was chopping wood out in the dooryard yesterday morning when suddenly he dropped to the ground. Dr. Graham, who with Justice Harry Hazlett saw the body, stated that the cause of death was heart failure.
