Mrs. W. W. Miller, mother of C. H. McClain, died in Santa Anna, Calif., Tuesday, Oct. 31, and will be buried in Newton Cemetery next Tuesday. The funeral will be held at the Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m. and will be in charge of Rev. Loucks of Leighton, Ia., assisted by Rev. R. F. Chambers.

Mrs. Miller was 77 years of age and lived in Leighton. She had not been in robust health and had gone to California for a visit. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Saturday, November 4, 1905, Page 1, Column 2

Mr. W. W. Miller arrived this morning with his wife’s body, from Santa Anna, California, where her death occurred the first of last week. The remains were taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. H. McLean, on North Scott Street.

The following arrived this afternoon to attend the funeral of their mother, Mrs. W. W. Miller, which will be held tomorrow in this city: Mr. and Mrs. William Masteller, and Harlan Pickerell and wife of Atlantic, Mr. and Mrs. James Miller of Harlan, and Mr. and Mrs. Seth Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kanine of Norwalk. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, Monday, November 6, 1905, Page 1, Column 2
