Obituary

Tom Sherratt, 73, passed away on Friday, November 10 at his home in Newton, Iowa after a lengthy illness. Tom was born August 14, 1944 and attended schools in Newton graduating in 1962. After high school, Tom served his country in the Marine Corps. His love for adventure led him on many different paths including cowboying in Wyoming, rodeoing, auctioneering and working at Blank Zoo. Tom most recently retired from a sales position with WW Manufacturing. His love of nature made taxidermy, hunting, fishing, wildlife photography and exploration of Native American beliefs his favorite activities.

Tom is survived by his mother, Dorothy Sherratt of Newton, sister Sue Yoder and brother Glen Sherratt (Karen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Military honors and visitation with the family will be held at the American Legion in Newton on Saturday, November 18 from 2:00 to 4:00. ~ The Pence Reese Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa Fri 10 Nov 2017.
