Ronald Eugene Hanson, age 79 of Colfax, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jasper County Church of Christ in Newton. Memorials may be designated to the family.

The son of Lester and Mildred (Block) Hanson, Ronald was born on June 24, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Southeast Polk High School. Ronald served in the United States Air Force. On October 31, 1958, he was united in marriage to Helen Ellerbe. Ronald retired from Maytag in Newton.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Laura Hanson, Gene (Wendy) Hanson, Mary Terry, David Hanson, and Brian (Carly) Hanson; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn (Frank) Bell, Donna Jerjerson, Debbie Label, and John Hanson; and a brother-in-law, Alfredo Jibaia.

Preceding Ronald in death were his parents, wife, Helen, in 1993 and a sister Judy Jibaia. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa Wed 01 Nov 2017.
