Hold Franklin Funeral Rites
Pioneer Resident of Mingo Dies Tuesday at Daughter’s Home in Story City
Clear Creek, Nov. 1 – Special – Funeral services for Mrs. Ava Franklin, 81 years of age, who died Tuesday morning following a long illness, were held this afternoon at 2:30 at the Ashton chapel. Mrs. Franklin died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Densmore, Story City, Iowa.
Mrs. Franklin spent most of her life on a farm near Mingo. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She was preceded in death by her husband, who was a veteran of the Mexican war, about 30 years ago. One daughter died about 20 years ago.

She is survived by nine children: John, James, Andrew and Mrs. Jane Young, all of Des Moines; Benjamin of Huxley, Ia.; William of Arizona; Guy of Ames, Ia.; Mrs. Bell Lovell of Aberdeen, S.D.; and Mrs. Densmore of Story City.
