James Ver Huel, Monroe Resident, Dies at Hospital
Monroe (Special) – James H. Ver Huel, 84 of Monroe, a resident of Jasper county since 1889, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton. Death was attributed to a heart condition.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Crumpacker Funeral Home in Monroe. The Rev. Donald Brong, pastor of the Monroe Baptist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery.
Mr. Ver Huel is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Catherine) Nolin of Monroe; three sons, Keith and Carl of Monroe and Kenneth of Algona; a sister, Mrs. John Anderson of Monroe; two brothers, Ira of Newton and Charles of Mitchellville; 11 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Ver Huel was born July 24, 1875 in New Jersey, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ver Huel. He was married March 12, 1907 to Bessie Roush.
A farmer, Mr. Ver Huel came to Iowa with his parents at an early age, residing in Marion county before moving to Jasper county in 1889.
