Life Story of A. Breckenridge
Alfred A. Breckenridge, Sr., 61, of Route 1, died February 12th at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home in Newton.
Rev. Douglas Maben, pastor of the Monroe Presbyterian Church conducted the services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred, four sons, David of Urbandale and Roger, Steven and Alfred, Jr., all of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Pearson of Monroe; and 19 grandchildren.
Also surviving are six brothers, Frank of Rancho Mirage, Calif., William, Delmar and Burton, all of Newton, Floyd of St. Louis Mo., and Lester James of Rich Hill, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Scott Breckridge; two brothers Walter and Glenn; and a sister, Bessie.
Mr. Breckenridge had been an employee of the Winpower Co. for 27 years.
The son of Alex and Addie Mae Myers Breckenridge, he was born April 23, 1917, at Buxton in Monroe County.
He was married to Mildred Carrie Nolin, Oct. 16, 1937, at Garden City, Mo.
