Life Story of Lucy Verhuel
Mrs. Arie (Lucy M.) Verhuel, 93, a resident of Newton died Sunday morning at the Skiff Memorial hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Stan Wierson, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church conducted the services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are a brother, Louis Wilhelm of Newton, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Verhuel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in December 1963; a brother, George; and a sister, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Birkenholz.
The daughter of Louis and Bertha Russ Verhuel (?), she was born June 19, 1884 at Prairie City.
She was married to Arie Verhuel Feb. 22, 1911 at Newton.
