Carolyn Marty, of Perry, Ohio, passed away July 21, 2011, in Chardon.
She was born October 3, 1923, in Monroe, Iowa, to Lillian (Piper) and Wayne Volk.
She married Kenneth Marty in Salem October 16, 1949. She was a teacher at Perry High School and also worked at Rayon. She was a 1943 graduate of Iowa State University. She worked on the Atomic bomb in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was also a member of PEO, Perry Garden Club, Perry Historical Society, and was a member of the Perry Library Board. She enjoyed reading, camping and traveling.
Survivors are her children, Kevin (Heather) Marty of San Diego, Calif., Keith (Gloria) Marty of Defiance, Karen (Frank) Majewski of Montville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Clare Copley of Prairie City, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Marty; parents; and sister, Helen Lord.
