Keith Edward Schippers, age 66, of Albia, formerly of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Monroe County Hospital in Albia.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 9 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia. Interment was in Monroe Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Keith was born April 17, 1945, in Des Moines. He was the son of Edward and Wilma (Van Zante) Schippers. He was raised in Monroe, Iowa, and was united in marriage on May 9, 1967, to Charlene Gail Irving of Knoxville. Together they farmed south of Monroe, and later moved to Albia in 1994. Keith was an active man who enjoyed being outdoors, farming north of Albia, and especially spending time with family and friends. Keith was involved in the American Agricultural Movement in the early 1980’s.
Keith is survived by his wife, Charlene Schippers of Albia; his children, Brian Schippers and his wife, Susan Verschuure of Pella, Kimberly Stover and her husband Mathew of New Bern, North Carolina, Justin Schippers of Albia, and Courtney Schippers and Warren Scott of Santa Barbara, California; six grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Schippers, and Gabriel, Ethan, Caleb, and Isaac Stover.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Wilma.
