Harry Clifford Morgan, age 97 of Prairie City, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will take place at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation for Harry will take place on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Prairie City Ambulance and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Frank and Blanche (Briles) Morgan, Harry was born on June 13, 1920, on the farm in the Oswalt area north of Colfax. He married the love of his life, Katy Bolen on June 26, 1943. In 1952, Harry and Katy bought a farm northeast of Bondurant where they raised their family. After retirement, they spent many happy winters in Arizona until Katy's death in 2000. Harry loved his family, drives in the country, farming, college wrestling, travel, big band music and a good meat and potatoes meal.
He will be missed by his son, John Morgan of Des Moines; daughters, Jean (Mark) Jennings and Marianne (Ken) Free both of Prairie City; 11 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Katy, half-sister, Bertha Hamil and a son, Jim Morgan. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, IA 15 July 2017.
