James Leroy Williams, age 79 of Colfax, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Memorial graveside services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at the Colfax Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Colfax Fire Department and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of William and Irene (Pinegar) Williams, James was born on September 21, 1937, in Colfax. On June 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Patricia Bucklin in Baxter. James was employed at the Monroe Table Company as a welder for 44 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing the rivers of Iowa. He also enjoyed participating in Memorial Day services at the river for several decades.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Patricia; three children, Darrell Williams and his wife Jani, Diana Smith and her husband Bryon and Danny Williams and his special friend Marla Shepley and Taylor. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Melissa Porter, Mike (Missy) Smith, Josh (Sarah) Williams, Jessica Williams and Chesley (Jessica) Williams; nine great grandchildren, Brooke, Cameron, Baylee, Kali, Cole, Jashawn, Emerson, Malachi and Melody; one sister, Elizabeth Gragg; a sister-in-law, Janice Williams, a brother-in-law, Raymond Bucklin and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Him in death were his parents, an infant daughter, Denise and siblings, Delores Spidell, John Williams, Barbara Ann Gulling and Jack Williams. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 29 June 2017.
