Howard Pearson Died at Wichita, Kansas Mar. 17
Howard Pearson, 57, a former resident of Colfax, died Thursday, March 17th at a hospital in Wichita, Kansas as the result of a heart and liver condition. Mr. Pearson had been hospitalized nine weeks.
He was born January 16, 1903, son of the late John and Jessie Pearson, at Colfax, Iowa. Mr. Pearson graduated from Colfax high school in 1922 and since that time had been employed in aircraft work in Chicago, Ill., California and Kansas.
During the second World War, he was Assistant Superintendent of the North American plant in Dallas, Texas and for the past 6 years has been employed by Cessna Aircraft of Wichita.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Selma Orlich of Tucson, Arizona, and a twin brother, Harold Pearson of San Mateo, California. An uncle, J. O. Pflaum of this city also survives. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Mr. Pearson was a member of the First Methodist Church of Colfax and Wichita and the U.S. Air Mail Pioneers.
He was well known in Colfax, visiting here quite often over a period of years. He will be remembered for his kindness and sunny disposition, always happy to be able to do kind deeds for his friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church in Colfax Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with the pastor, Rev. E Harold Jackson, officiating.
Music was furnished by Howard Loehr, soloist with Mrs. Frank B. Evans, organist.
Bearers were Robert Clark, Russell Kintz, M. c. Marquis, Arnold Myhra, Michael Orlich and Harold Taylor.
Flower committee – Mrs. Michael Orlich and Mrs. William Snetselaar.
Burial was in McKeever cemetery, north of Colfax.
