Mrs. Jim Jacobs Died February 19th at Hospital
Mrs. Jim (LaDora) Jacobs, 86, a resident of this city for the past 20 years, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 19th in the Skiff hospital at Newton. Death was caused by her advanced years and a general decline in health the past few months. She entered the hospital February 17th.
Mrs. Jacobs was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Harmison and was born December 4, 1872 at Runnells, Iowa. She grew to womanhood in the Runnells vicinity and later taught in the schools for several years. Mrs. Jacobs was united in marriage to James T. Jacobs on January 15, 1902, her husband preceding her in death eleven years ago.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m. from the Bumgardner Funeral Home in Colfax with the Rev. N. G. Clayton, pastor of the Christian Church, officiating.
Bearers were George Deakins, Chess Bell, Dave Edwards, Ronald Carroll, E. T. Oberg and R. B. Meharry.
Following services her body was taken to Runnells, where burial was made in the cemetery there.
